DSY - Discovery - Trading Statement Discovery Holdings Limited (Incorporated in the Republic of South Africa) (Registration number 1999/007789/06) Share code: DSY & ISIN: ZAE000022331 ("Discovery" or "the Company") TRADING STATEMENT Discovery is currently finalising its results for the year ended 30 June 2007, which will be released on 4 September 2007. Excluding the effects of the Black Economic Empowerment transaction ("BEE transaction"), earnings per share and headline earnings per share are expected to be between 25% and 35% higher than the corresponding reporting period of the previous year, with growth in group operating profit before investment income and tax, and the impact of the BEE transaction of between 15% and 25%. Shareholders are advised that, after taking into account the IFRS impact of the BEE transaction on the current and corresponding previous reporting periods, earnings per share is expected to be between 50% and 60% higher and headline earnings per share is expected to be between 60% and 70% higher than the corresponding reporting period of the previous year. The financial information on which this trading statement is based has not been reviewed and reported on by the Company`s auditors.
