Mr. Ian Rozier, President and CEO of Eastern Platinum Limited ("Eastplats") is pleased to report that Eastplats` investments are not exposed to any financial instruments involving the US residential property market, mortgages, or to Coventree Inc. Eastplats has over Cnd$204 Million in its treasury which is invested in highly liquid financial instruments. These investments comprise Guaranteed Investment Certificates (GIC`s) with BMO, Banker`s Acceptances (BA`s) fully guaranteed by TD Bank, Bearer Deposit Notes (BDN`s) issued and fully guaranteed by TD Bank and in TD Bank and BMO sponsored Financial Instruments with no exposure to U.S. residential mortgages. Eastplats is also invested in GE Capital Funding Company Commercial Paper based on the guarantee from General Electric Capital Corporation as well as the support of the ultimate parent, General Electric Company.
