The board of directors of York is pleased to announce that further to the       
announcements dated 28 March 2007, 11 May 2007, 18 June 2007 and 9 July 2007    
pertaining to the acquisition by York of all the shares in and shareholders`    
claims against each of Global Forest Products (Proprietary) Limited ("GFP")     
and South African Plywood (Proprietary) Limited ("Plywood") for an aggregate    
purchase consideration of R1,694,747,439.00 with effect from 30 June 2007 in    
one indivisible transaction ("the Acquisition"), all the conditions precedent   
to the Acquisition have been met and, accordingly, the Acquisition has become   
unconditional. The Acquisition closing date is 12 July 2007.
