    NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the following preference dividends have been    
    declared for the six months to 28 February 2007, payable on Monday, 12      
    March 2007.                                                                 
The last day on which shares will trade cum dividend will be Friday, 2      
    March 2007.  Shoprite Holdings Ltd preference shares will trade ex dividend 
    as from Monday, 5 March 2007.   The record date will be Friday, 9 March     
    2007.                                                                       
Share certificates may not be dematerialised or rematerialised between      
    Monday, 5 March 2007 and Friday, 9 March 2007, both days inclusive.
