ASPEN AND LUPIN DECIDE NOT TO PROGRESS WITH MOU                                 
Shareholders are referred to a SENS announcement made on 27 February 2006, in   
which it was reported that Aspen and Indian-based, Lupin Limited ("Lupin") had  
entered into a memorandum of understanding ("MOU") for the establishment of a   
50/50 joint venture for the development, manufacture and global marketing of    
selected anti-tuberculosis (TB) products.                                       
Aspen and Lupin have mutually agreed that the proposed joint venture will not be
pursued at this stage.  However, there will be continued collaboration between  
the parties for the marketing and distribution of TB related products in the    
Republic of South Africa in accordance with the agreements concluded by the     
parties in September 2005.
