VOTING RIGHTS AND CAPITAL - UPDATE                                              
In conformity with the Transparency Directive`s transitional provision 6 and as 
an update to the announcement made on 29 December 2006, the Company hereby      
advises that pursuant to a staff share option exercise a further 8,363 ordinary 
shares were issued and allotted on 4 January 2007.                              
Following this issue, the Company`s total issued share capital is 154,434,079   
ordinary shares of US$1 each with voting rights and 50,000 sterling deferred    
shares of GBP1 each with no voting rights.                                      
Therefore, the total number of voting rights in Lonmin Plc is 154,434,079.      
The above figure (154,434,079) may be used by shareholders as the denominator   
for the calculations by which they will determine if they are required to notify
their interest in, or a change to their interest in, Lonmin Plc under the FSA`s 
Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
