Tawana - Press Release Tawana Resources NL (Incorporated in Australia) (Registration number ACN 085 166 721) Share code on the JSE Limited: TAW & ISIN: AU000000TAW7 Share code on the Australian Stock Exchange Limited: TAW & ISIN: AU000000TAW7 ("Tawana" or "the Company") Blacktop Kimberlite Pilbara Region - Western Australia Diamonds recovered Highlights - Bulk sampling program commenced - Diamonds recovered from Blacktop Kimberlite - 263 diamonds weighing 20.89 carats from 215 tonnes of minus 6mm fraction of Blacktop 01 The Company is pleased to advise that the bulk sampling program has commenced and that 263 diamonds weighing 20.89 carats have been recovered from the first 215 tonnes of the plus 1mm minus 6mm material examined. The largest diamond weighed 1.0249 carats. The material processed was excavated from the Blacktop 1 kimberlite fissure and was screened to minus 19mm plus 1mm. The plus 6mm fraction of this batch will be crushed to minus 6mm and processed. Additional diamonds are expected to be recovered from this fraction. The result reported here is only for the plus 1mm minus 6mm fraction processed to completion to date. No grade calculations for the kimberlite can be inferred from this preliminary result until the plus 6mm material has also been processed. This result is an encouraging preliminary result of an ongoing bulk sampling of the kimberlite during which several thousand tonnes of material will be processed. The aim of the bulk sampling program is to determine the grade and diamond quality of the kimberlite fissure located some 40km east of Pannawonica in the Pilbara Region of Western Australia. The Blacktop Project is a Tawana/De Beers Australia Exploration Limited 50/50 joint venture.
