Tawana - Company Press Release Tawana Resources NL (Incorporated in Australia) (Registration number ACN 085 166 721) Share code on the JSE Limited: TAW ISIN: AU000000TAW7 Share code on the Australian Stock Exchange Limited: TAW ISIN: AU000000TAW7 ("Tawana" or "the Company") Blacktop Kimberlite Pilbara Region - Western Australia Update Highlights Ministerial approval granted for bulk sampling program Diamonds recovered from small test sample Dense Media Separation plant being mobilised The Company is pleased to advise that Ministerial approval has been granted for the bulk sampling of the Blacktop kimberlite. This approval enables the Company to mobilise plant and equipment and to commence bulk sampling. The aim of the bulk sampling program is to determine the grade and diamond quality of the kimberlite fissure located some 40km east of Pannawonica in the Pilbara Region of Western Australia. A 418kg check sample of the Blacktop Kimberlite was recently collected at the same location as the previously reported De Beers 35.85t sample to review and assess the mineral chemistry of the kimberlite. 197kg of minus 2mm kimberlite was concentrated and examined at the Company"s Melbourne Laboratory. This resulted in the recovery of 19 diamonds weighing 0.054carats. The bottom cut-off size fraction for treatment and examination was 0.3mm. The plus 2mm fraction was not examined as mineral chemistry analyses are typically not conducted on the coarser fractions. Sample details are listed in Table 1. TABLE 1: Blacktop Kimberlite Sample Details Sample Weight Diamonds Diamond Fraction Kg Recovered Weight carats +2.0mm 221 Not Examined Not Examined -2.0mm 197 19 0.054 Total 418 While the sample size was small, the diamond recoveries are considered an encouraging lead up to the bulk sample program and the progressive advancement of the Pilbara Project over the coming months. Tawana has completed a Machinery Lease Agreement with Perth-based NTF Mineral Processing for the lease of a 20 tonne per hour dense media separation plant (DMS) to process the kimberlite bulk samples. The DMS is currently being mobilised to site and is expected to be commissioned by late September. The Blacktop Project is a Tawana/De Beers Australia Exploration Limited 50/50 joint venture.
