PASSING AWAY OF DIRECTOR                                                        
In compliance with rules 3.59 (b) of the Listings Requirements of JSE Limited   
("the JSE"), the following information is disclosed:                            
Oceana regrets to announce the death of executive director Themba Langeni, which
occurred suddenly and unexpectedly on the evening of 06 February.               
Themba was 49 and married with 4 children.                                      
Themba joined the group in June 1998 as National Sales Manager of Federal Marine
and became Sales Director of Oceana Brands in October 1999 then Managing        
Director in October 2002.  He was appointed executive director of Oceana Group  
Limited in May 2005.                                                            
Themba was a director of a number of Oceana subsidiaries in the local fishing   
industry, including St Helena Bay Fishing Industries Limited, which operates a  
large fish cannery and has an extensive distribution and marketing              
infrastructure supporting its Lucky Star brand.                                 
Themba was held in high regard and affection by his fellow directors, industry  
colleagues, management and staff and will be sorely missed.
