It is with great regret that Aspen Pharmacare Holdings Limited ("Aspen")        
announces the passing of Muzi Buthelezi in late December 2005.  Muzi was        
appointed to the Board of Aspen in February 2002 following the completion of the
Black Economic Empowerment ("BEE") deal in terms of which CEPPWAWU Investments  
acquired a stake in Aspen.  Muzi, formerly the General Secretary of the CEPPWAWU
trade union, took the leadership role in the union"s investment arm and was     
instrumental in negotiating the deal with Aspen.  He was also integrally        
involved in the negotiation of the BEE deal between Aspen and Imithi in 2005.   
CEPPWAWU Investments is a 50% shareholder in Imithi.  Muzi was a valued non-    
executive director of Aspen who made a meaningful contribution to the excellent 
growth of the company during his period of involvement.  The Board of Aspen     
conveys its condolences to the family and friends of Muzi.
