With regard to the audited results for the year ended 30 June 2005, shareholders
are advised that the annual financial statements have been posted to            
shareholders today, 31 October 2005 and contain no modifications to the audited 
results which were released on SENS on 20 September 2005.                       
The annual financial statements were audited by PricewaterhouseCoopers Inc.     
Their report is available for inspection at the Company"s registered office.    
Notice of the annual general meeting                                            
Notice is hereby given that the eighth annual general meeting of FirstRand      
shareholders will be held at 09:00 on Tuesday 22 November 2005 in the           
auditorium, FNB Training Centre, Grayston Drive, Sandton to transact the        
business as stated in the annual general meeting notice forming part of the     
annual financial statements.
