In accordance with Section 3.59(a) of the Listings Requirements of the JSE      
Limited, shareholders are advised that Professor Fatima Abrahams has been       
appointed as a non-executive director to the Board of Lewis Group Limited and   
its Remuneration and Nomination committee with effect 1 September 2005.         
Professor Fatima Abrahams is currently a professor in the department of         
Industrial Psychology at the University of Western Cape and is the chairperson  
of TSIBA Education (endorsed by CIDA Education, Johannesburg). She also serves  
as a non-executive director of the Foschini Group and is a member of their      
Remuneration and Transformation committee.
