In accordance with DR 3.1.4 R (1) (a) and (b), Mr Brad Mills, a director of     
Lonmin Plc, today notified the Company that he was notified on 15 August 2005   
that 247 Lonmin Plc Ordinary Shares of US$1 each ("Shares") were acquired by the
trustee of the Lonmin Plc Employee Benefit Trust ("Trust") at a price of        
GBP11.60 following the reinvestment of dividends paid to the Trust on his       
behalf.                                                                         
The trustee separately notified the Company that on 11 August 2005 it had       
acquired 512 Shares (including 247 Shares for Mr Mills) at a price of GBP11.60  
following the reinvestment of dividends paid to it pursuant to the Invested     
Shares Deferred Annual Bonus Plan.                                              
Following this transaction the Trust holds a total of 202,873 Shares in the     
Company in which each of the executive directors of the Company, Brad Mills,    
John Robinson and Ian Farmer are deemed to have a beneficial interest (to the   
extent of their participation in certain of the Company"s share schemes) and a  
non-beneficial interest in the balance.
