In accordance with Part VI of the Companies Act 1985 (as amended by the         
Companies Act 1989) Lonmin Plc was notified on 12 August 2005 by Lloyds TSB     
Group Plc that it is interested in 5,754,288 ordinary shares of US$1 each of the
Company equating to 4.05 per cent of the issued share capital.
