TRADING STATEMENT                                                               
The directors hereby advise that Bell expects to make a profit for the six      
months ended 30 June 2005 equivalent to headline earnings of 11 (eleven) cents  
per share.  In the comparative period to 30 June 2004 the company made a        
headline loss of 6 (six) cents per share.  Earnings per share to 30 June 2005   
are 13 (thirteen) cents per share as compared to a loss per share of 6 (six)    
cents per share for the six months ended 30 June 2004.                          
The board anticipates that the final results for the period ended 30 June 2005  
will be published on SENS and in the media on Friday, 12 August 2005. The       
results on which this trading statement is based have not been reviewed or      
reported on by Bells auditors.
