STERLING DIVIDEND RATE                                                          
The Board of Lonmin Plc has previously announced an interim dividend of 30 cents
per share payable on 5 August 2005 in sterling to UK shareholders calculated at 
the US dollar to sterling exchange rate on 15 July 2005 and in dollars to all   
overseas shareholders other than those on the South African branch register.    
The US dollar to sterling exchange rate on 15 July 2005 is $1.76/GBP1 and       
accordingly the sterling dividend payable is 17.05 pence per share.
