HOLDING IN COMPANY                                                              
In accordance with Part VI of the Companies Act 1985 (as amended by the         
Companies Act 1989) Lonmin Plc was yesterday notified by Lloyds TSB Group Plc   
that it is interested in 5,607,926 ordinary shares of US$1 each of the Company  
equating to 3.957 per cent of the issued share capital.                         
This notification is made on behalf of Lloyds TSB Group plc and its             
subsidiaries.
