DIRECTORATE CHANGES                                                             
The board of directors of Pretoria Portland Cement Company Limited ("PPC"), a   
Barloworld Limited subsidiary, is pleased to announce the following appointments
to the board of directors with effect from 5 May 2005:                          
Mr Joe Shibambo is appointed as an independent non-executive director of the    
company.  Mr Shibambo brings to the board his broad knowledge from working in   
the construction industry for 26 years.                                         
Dr Orrie Fenn, currently managing director of PPC Cement and a board director,  
is now appointed PPC Chief Operating Officer.                                   
Mr Salim Abdul Kader is appointed as an executive director of the company,      
previously an alternate director since November 2004.  Mr Abdul Kader takes over
as director Organisational Performance from Mr Rod Burn who has been transferred
to Barloworld Limited"s Motor division and has therefore resigned from the PPC  
board.
