FIRM INTENTION TO MAKE AN OFFER                                                 
Shareholders are advised that the Group has, through its subsidiary Murray &    
Roberts Limited, submitted a written notice to the board of directors of Concor 
Limited ("Concor") of its firm intention to make an offer for the entire issued 
share capital of Concor. The offer is subject to the fulfilment of certain      
conditions precedent and is priced at 2230 cents per ordinary share, which is a 
premium to the weighted average share price of Concor over any period in the    
last 12 months. Further details will be communicated to shareholders in due     
course.                                                                         
The Standard Bank of South Africa Limited has confirmed in writing to the       
Securities Regulation Panel that Murray & Roberts has sufficient resources      
available to satisfy the purchase of the entire issued share capital of Concor. 
Shareholders are referred to the announcement published by Concor on SENS today.
