Lonmin appoints new Vice President - Investor Relations & Communications        
The Chief Executive"s Committee of Lonmin Plc is delighted to announce that     
Alexandra Shorland-Ball has been appointed Vice President of Investor Relations 
& Communications for Lonmin Plc.                                                
Alex will join the Group on 18th April 2005 and will lead and direct the Group"s
Investor and Public Relations" programme.                                       
Commenting on the appointment, Lonmin"s Chief Executive, Brad Mills said:       
"I am delighted that Alex is joining the Lonmin team.  She has the relevant     
investor relations and public relations experience which will allow her, with   
the help of our existing team, to build on and strengthen our investor and      
public relations programmes."

Alex Shorland-Ball joins the Group from Finsbury Group, where she was an        
Associate Partner.  Prior to joining Finsbury, Alex worked for 6 years in the   
corporate broking department of HSBC latterly as an Associate Director.  Alex is
a qualified lawyer and began her career at City law firm, Norton Rose.
