In compliance with the JSE Securities Exchange South Africa Listings            
Requirements, the following information is disclosed:                           
Mr. Steven B Epstein has been appointed as a non-executive director to the board
of Discovery with effect from today,                                            
17 February 2005.                                                               
Mr Epstein is a founding member of Epstein Becker & Green, the largest          
healthcare law firm in the United States, and the senior health law partner in  
its Washington, D.C. office. A pioneer in the practice of health care law, Mr.  
Epstein played a major role in the establishment of health maintenance          
organisations and managed care as an accepted form of health care delivery, both
on the federal and state levels.                                                
Mr. Epstein"s experience includes:                                              
Providing a wide range of health care organisations and providers with strategic
legal guidance, with a special emphasis on mergers and acquisitions and         
relationships between non-profit and equity-owned health care systems;          
Counselling clients throughout the country, including many of the most          
recognised institutions, providers and corporations in health care today, in 16 
different areas of health practice, ranging from health policy and federal      
agency representation to complex litigation support;                            
Serving as a consultant on new and emerging systems of care.                    
Following graduation from law school, Mr. Epstein joined the Wall Street law    
firm of Barrett Knapp Smith & Shapiro. In 1972-73 he served as a legal          
consultant to the Health Maintenance Organization Service, Health Services and  
Mental Health Administration, U.S. Department of Health, Education and Welfare. 
In 1973, Mr. Epstein founded Epstein & Becker, the predecessor to Epstein Becker
& Green. Epstein Becker & Green supports clients throughout the United States in
16 different areas of health practice, ranging from health policy to strategic  
partnering to complex compliance issues.  The firm currently has over 350       
attorneys, with ten domestic offices.  Epstein Becker & Green has over 90       
attorneys specialising solely in health law, and is recognised as one of the    
leading law firms in health law.                                                
Mr. Epstein, a graduate of the Columbia Law School, currently serves as chairman
of the Columbia Law School Board of Visitors. He also serves on the Board of    
Trustees and Executive Committee of Tufts University in Boston.
