In accordance with Part VI of the Companies Act 1985 (as amended by the         
Companies Act 1989) Lonmin Plc has today been notified by Lloyds TSB Bank Plc   
that it is interested in 5,148,643 ordinary shares of US$1 each of the Company  
equating to 3.635% of the issued share capital.                                 
This notification is made on behalf of Lloyds TSB Group plc and its             
subsidiaries.
