ANNOUNCEMENT                                                                    
The attention of shareholders is drawn to an announcement made today by BOC plc 
("BOC"), the majority shareholder of Afrox, that Mr John Walsh, chief executive 
of BOC"s global Industrial and Special Products business, has resigned from BOC 
to take up a position with an energy company in the United States, and will     
leave the BOC Board in March 2005.                                              
Mr J Walsh"s position as a director and chairman of the Board of Afrox remains  
unchanged.
