RESULTS OF GENERAL MEETING REGARDING THE ACQUISITION OF SAMQUARZ (PROPRIETARY)  
LIMITED                                                                         
1. INTRODUCTION                                                                 
The board of directors of Petmin are pleased to announce that all the           
resolutions proposed at the general meeting held on Monday, 20 September 2004   
regarding the acquisition of SamQuarz (Proprietary) Limited ("the transaction"),
were approved by the requisite majority of shareholders present or represented  
by proxy and will, where necessary, be registered with the Registrar of         
Companies.                                                                      
2. LISTING ON THE JSE SECURITIES EXCHANGE SOUTH AFRICA ("JSE") AND SALIENT DATES
 The listing of Petmin will be transferred from the "Speciality and Other       
Finance" sector of the JSE lists to the "Other Mineral Extractors and Mines"    
sector of the JSE lists with effect from the commencement of trading on Monday, 
27 September 2004, from which date the additional 84 444 444 shares issued in   
terms of the transaction will be listed. An abridged pre-listing statement for  
Petmin will be published on Thursday, 23 September 2004.
