NAMPAK LIMITED - RETIREMENT OF EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR                               
Nampak wishes to advise that Mr John Monks, the CEO of Nampak Europe, will      
retire at the end of December 2004 on reaching the age of 63 and will resign    
from the Board of Nampak Limited as at the group financial year end on 30       
September 2004.                                                                 
The Board thanks John for his contribution to the packaging industry over the   
past 48 years and wishes him well in his retirement.                            
The Nampak European operations will, until further notice, report to John       
Bortolan, the CEO of Nampak.
