RESULTS OF ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING, TRADING STATEMENT AND CAUTIONARY ANNOUNCEMENT
1.   Results of Annual General Meeting                                          
     Shareholders are advised that, at the annual general meeting held at the   
offices of HAHL on Thursday, 27 May 2004, all the resolutions contained in 
     the notice of annual general meeting were passed by the requisite majority 
     of HAHL shareholders present or represented by proxy. The special          
     resolution passed will be lodged with the Registrar of Companies in due    
course for registration.                                                   
2.   Trading Statement                                                          
     In terms of the JSE Securities Exchange South Africa Listings Requirements 
     ("JSE Listings Requirements"), companies are required to publish a trading 
statement as soon as they become aware that the financial results for the  
     period to be reported on next will be materially different from that of the
     previous corresponding period.                                             
     Shareholders are advised that HAHL"s earnings and headline earnings per    
share for the six months ended 30 June 2004 are estimated to be materially 
     lower ("materially" being a decrease of between 10% and 30%, as defined in 
     the JSE Listings Requirements) than that of the prior comparative period.  
     This material decrease is attributable to the secondary tax on companies   
("STC") payable on the special dividend of 47 cents per share, which was   
     paid to shareholders on 8 March 2004. The total amount of STC paid in      
     respect of this special dividend amounted to R 3,9m or 5,9 cents per share.
3.   Cautionary Announcement                                                    
As the above information has not been reviewed or reported on by the       
     company"s auditors, shareholders are advised to exercise caution when      
     dealing in the company"s shares until publication of the financial results 
     for the six months ended 30 June 2004.
