Lonmin Plc is pleased to confirm that, further to the Company"s announcement on 
5 February 2004, the appointment of Mr Bradford Mills as a Director and as Chief
Executive of the Company, took effect on 26 March 2004.                         
Mr Edward Haslam, Chief Executive of the Company since November 2000, will reach
retirement age in mid-April and has retired from the Board as of 26 March 2004. 
Mr Mills resigned as a director of Rio Algom Limited, a company quoted on the   
New York Stock Exchange, in February 2004.  There are no other matters relating 
to Mr Mills that are required to be disclosed under Listing Rule 16.4.
