WITHDRAWAL OF CAUTIONARY ANNOUNCEMENT                                           
Shareholders are referred to the cautionary announcement published in the press 
on 28 January 2004, and are advised that the contents referred to therein have  
ceased to have a material effect on the company.                                
Accordingly, shareholders are advised that caution is no longer required when   
dealing in their Argent shares, and the cautionary announcement is hereby       
withdrawn.
