AMENDMENTS TO IMPORTANT DATES AND TIMES                                         
The dates and times as published in the circular to shareholders dated 12       
December 2003 are hereby amended as follows:                                    
Circular posted to shareholders on                     Friday, 12 December 2003 
Offer opens at 9:00 on                                 Monday, 15 December 2003 
Last date to trade to be eligible for the offer        Friday, 16 January 2004  
Shares trade ex the offer                              Monday, 19 January 2004  
Offer closes at 12:00 on (see note 3)                  Friday, 23 January 2004  
Record date                                            Friday, 23 January 2004  
Notes:                                                                          
1.   Postal acceptances, which are received at or before 12:00 on Friday, 23    
     January 2004 will be treated as having been delivered timeously.           
2.   The above dates are subject to amendment. Any change will be published on  
SENS and in the press.                                                     
3.   Dematerialised shareholders are required to notify their duly appointed    
     CSDP or broker of their acceptance of the offer in the manner and time     
     stipulated in the agreement governing the relationship between the         
shareholder and his/her CSDP or broker.                                    
4.   For certificated shareholders, cheques in respect of the offer             
     consideration will be posted to shareholders who accept the offer, or      
     deposited directly into the shareholder"s bank account, at the risk of the 
shareholder concerned, within seven days of receipt by the transfer        
     secretaries of documents of title and properly completed forms of          
     surrender. Shareholders who have already dematerialised their shares       
     through a CSDP or broker will receive the offer consideration as agreed to 
between the shareholder and CSDP or broker within seven days of receipt of 
     instruction from the shareholder to the transfer secretaries.              
5.   Share certificates may not be dematerialised or rematerialised between     
     Monday, 19 January 2004 and Friday, 23 January 2004, both days inclusive.
