TRADING UPDATE AND CAUTIONARY ANNOUNCEMENT                                      
A review of the financial results for the six months ended 31  August  2003 by  
management has indicated that the headline earnings per share of Steers Holdings
will be substantially higher than the previous financial year. "Substantial" has
been defined in the JSE Securities Exchange South Africa Listings Requirements  
as equal to or greater than 30%. The financial results for the year ended 31    
August  2003 have not been audited or reviewed by Steers Holding"s auditors.    
Accordingly shareholders are advised to exercise caution in their dealings in   
Steers Holdings shares until such time as a further announcement has been made.
