                 FTSE/JSE AFRICA INDEX SERIES - QUARTERLY REVIEW                
                                10 September 2003                               
The FTSE/JSE Advisory Committee met today (10 September 2003) to approve the    
Quarterly changes to the FTSE/JSE Index series. All constituent changes will be 
applied after the close of business on Thursday, 18 September 2003 and will be  
effective on Friday, 19 September 2003. All Free Float and Shares in Issue      
changes will be applied after close of business on 19 September 2003 and will be
effective on 22 September 2003. Please refer to our web site (www.ftsejse.co.za)
for the Quarterly Shares in Issue changes ICA.
