Johannesburg, 31 July 2003:  On 11 June 2003, Steers Holdings" warehouse based  
in Midrand, Gauteng, was gutted by fire.  The company"s insurer, Santam Limited,
yesterday paid R8 million to Steers Holdings as an interim payment, in advance  
of the final claim being settled.                                               
It is anticipated that the balance of the claim will be settled in due course.
