DECLARATION OF CUMULATIVE PREFERENCE DIVIDENDS                                  
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT the following cumulative preference dividends have  
been declared:                                                                  
6,5% CUMULATIVE PREFERENCE SHARES - DIVIDEND NO. 69                             
A dividend at the rate of 6,5% per annum in respect of the six months ending 31 
July 2003 (equivalent to 6,5 cents per share per annum) (2002: 6,5 cents per    
share per annum) payable to shareholders recorded as such in the register of the
Company at the close of business on the record date, Friday 25 July 2003.  The  
last day to trade to participate in the dividend is Friday 18 July 2003.        
6% CUMULATIVE PREFERENCE SHARES - DIVIDEND NO. 69                               
A dividend at the rate of 6% per annum in respect of the six months ending 31   
July 2003 (equivalent to 6,0 cents per share per annum) (2002: 6,0 cents per    
share per annum) payable to shareholders recorded as such in the register of the
Company at the close of business on the record date, Friday 25 July 2003.  The  
last day to trade to participate in the dividend is Friday 18 July 2003.        
The salient dates for the dividends are as follows:                             
Last day to trade preference shares "cum" dividend     Friday 18 July 2003      
Preference shares trade "ex" dividend                  Monday 21 July 2003      
Record date                                            Friday 25 July 2003      
Payment date                                           Monday 28 July 2003      
No preference share certificates may be dematerialised or rematerialised between
Monday 21 July 2003 and Friday 25 July 2003, both days inclusive.
