FTSE/JSE Africa Index Series - Management of Shares in Issue Changes

Further to our announcement in February 2003, the new arrangements for managing
share-in-issue changes are now effective. From April 2003 all share changes of
more than 1% which do not result from a corporate action are applied at the
next quarterly review. Accumulated share changes which add up to 10% or more
are implemented immediately between quarters.
Share changes of more than 1% which have been accumulated during the quarter
will be applied across FTSE/JSE Africa Indices after the close of business on
June 20 i.e. with effect from Monday 23 June.
Please note that the changes shown below will also be reflected in the FTSE/JSE
Africa Index Series Trader / Tracker products available after close of business
on June 20 2003 effective for June 23 2003.
Following the application of the June review changes, the next update of shares
in issue greater than 1% will be effective at the September review. Changes as
a result of a corporate action will continue to be applied as normal and in
instances where accumulated share changes add up to 10% or more, implementation
will take place immediately between quarters.
