Mr Ton Vosloo, chairman of Sanlam said today that progress is being made with   
the process of appointing a new chief executive for Sanlam.                     
"The human resources committee of Sanlam`s Board is actively involved in an     
extensive assessment process before it will make recommendations to the Board. A
final decision on an appointment is therefore not imminent," he said.           
Meanwhile, Mr Flip Rademeyer, who was appointed as acting chief executive in    
December 2002, continues in this position.
