In a joint statement the Chairman of Sanlam Limited, Mr Ton Vosloo, and the     
Chief Executive of Sanlam Limited, Dr Leon Vermaak, announced today that Dr     
Vermaak is leaving the services of the Group.                                   
Dr Vermaak is leaving the Group to pursue his own interests.                    
The Board has appointed Mr Flip Rademeyer, financial director of the Group, as  
acting chief executive with immediate effect and the process is now underway to 
find a successor to Dr Vermaak.
