Dividend No. 129                                                                
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on 18 November 2002 the directors of AECI Limited   
declared a dividend at the rate of 5,5 per cent per annum for the six months    
ending 15 December 2002, payable on 17 December 2002 to holders of preference   
shares recorded in the books of the Company at the close of business on 13      
December 2002.                                                                  
The last day to trade cum dividend will be Friday, 6 December 2002, and shares  
will commence trading ex dividend from Monday, 9 December 2002.                 
The dividend is declared in pound sterling and payment will be made from the    
offices of the transfer secretaries in South Africa and the United Kingdom on   
Tuesday, 17 December 2002.                                                      
Dividends payable from South Africa will be paid in South African currency at   
the rate of 42,807 cents per share in accordance with the exchange rate ruling  
on Monday, 11 November 2002 (1 pound sterling = R15,566).                       
Dividends payable from the United Kingdom office will be subject to such tax    
deductions as are prescribed by United Kingdom legislation unless a certificate 
exempting the shareholder concerned from such tax deductions is received before 
Friday, 6 December 2002.                                                        
Any changes of address or dividend instruction must be received before Friday, 6
December 2002.                                                                  
Share certificates may not be dematerialised or rematerialised from Monday, 9   
December 2002, to Friday, 13 December 2002, both days inclusive.
