Trans Hex supplies charter to De Beers Marine Trans Hex Group Limited News release (Cape Town Friday 30th August 2002) Trans Hex has entered into a short-term charter contract with De Beers Marine to provide a deep-water mining vessel to conduct diamond sampling activities off the Namibian coast. According to executive director Andr Louw the Mv Ivan Prinsep, a 966 tonne airlift mining vessel equipped with a 40 tonne per hour Dense Media Separation plant, is ideal for the requirements of the particular task at hand. "The Ivan Prinsep has performed successfully on previous assignments in Namibian waters in that area," said Louw. "The operational efficiencies our team can achieve combine to produce a cost-effective sampling and mining unit." De Beers Marine General Manager, Paul Dixon-Savage, said : "We are delighted to have people of the calibre of Andr Louw and his team working with us. Andr has a commendable track record and has shown a propensity for producing diamonds under tough conditions." The Mv Ivan Prinsep has started sampling in Namibian waters. Ends.
