NAMPAK AND MALBAK MERGER - SUPPLEMENTARY ANNOUNCEMENT                           
Further to the announcement dated 8 July 2002, Nampak would like to confirm that
SARB approval was only sought and obtained for Malbak`s offshore operations to  
be retained by the merged party. This approval was given subject to the same    
conditions that were applicable at the time SARB originally approved the Malbak 
offshore investments. This was the only SARB approval required by Nampak since  
settlement is entirely in South African equity and cash.
