NEWS RELEASE                                                                    
Cape Town, 24 May 2002.  Trans Hex  is pleased to announce that agreement       
was reached with the National Union of Mineworkers to end industrial action     
at all of its operations and that normal operations commenced on 22 May         
2002.  Production lost during the industrial action is expected to be fully     
recouped prior to the middle of the financial year, being September 2002.
