Further to the offer announcement issued jointly by Nampak and Malbak dated     
26 April 2002, shareholders of both companies are advised that the              
Competition Commission announced on 16 May 2002 that it had forwarded to the    
Competition Tribunal its written recommendation that the merger be approved     
subject to the divestment of Kohler`s bubblepack insulation machine.            
The Competition Tribunal will now consider the merger application.
