Standard Bank completes the acquisition of Ulusal Yatirim Menkul Kiymetler
AS

SBIC Investments S.A, a subsidiary of Stanbic, has completed the purchase of
Ulusal Yatirim Menkul Kiymetler AS, a Turkish securities intermediary and a
member of the Istanbul Stock Exchange.  The acquisition will enable the
Standard Bank Group to participate directly in the Turkish capital markets
and to offer Turkish investors a broad range of international products.
The Standard Bank Group has been represented in Turkey since 1999.
