DIVIDEND ANNOUNCEMENT

Notice is hereby given that on 29 November 2001 the Directors of Lonmin
recommended a final dividend of 28,2 pence (40,0 US cents) per share

compared with 25,7 pence (36,0 US cents) per share in 2001, representing an
increase of 11,1 percent in dollar terms and 9,7 percent in sterling terms.
The total distribution amounts to US$67 million (2001 : US$65 million).
The final dividend will be paid on 18 February 2002 to shareholders on the
Registers at 25 January 2002. The last day to trade "CUM" the dividend in
order to participate in the dividend will be Friday, 18 January 2002. The
shares of Lonmin will commence trading "EX" the dividend on Monday, 21
January 2002, and the record date will be Friday, 25 January 2002.

Dividends payable to shareholders on the South African Branch Register will
be paid at the rate of exchange ruling on 25 January 2002.
Notes :

A dividend reinvestment plan is available.  Details are sent to all new
shareholders on a semi-annual basis; and may also be obtained from the
Transfer Secretaries.

2. Shareholders on the South African Branch Register may not

dematerialise/rematerialise their share certificates between Monday, 14
January 2002 and Friday, 25 January 2002, both dates inclusive.
