Amendment of the record date


Shareholders are referred to the Preliminary results announcement published
on Wednesday, 16 May 2001, in which it was stated that the record date in
order to participate in the final dividend (number 17) is Friday, 8 June
2001.


Trading under the STRATE environment requires settlement in five business
days. In line with the settlement procedures in the STRATE environment,
Steers has determined that the last day to trade will be Friday, 8 June 2001
and the ordinary shares will trade ex-dividend on Monday, 11 June 2001. The
shareholders are advised that the new record date for the final dividend
(number 17) will be Friday, 15 June 2001.
