Lonmin Plc has today been notified in accordance with Sections 198-202 of the
Companies Act 1985 (as amended) by Deutsche Bank AG London on behalf of
Deutsche Bank AG Frankfurt, its parent company, that Deutsche Bank AG and its
subsidiary companies has a notifiable interest in 23,003,456 ordinary shares of
GBP1 each of the Company (representing 12.90 per cent of the issued share
capital) in the names and in the amounts as set out below.

Other than the 106,989 shares held in the name of Deutsche Bank AG London, the
holdings are held on behalf of a number of clients whose portfolios are managed
on a discretionary basis by companies within Deutsche Bank AG acting as Fund
Managers.
