SAP - Sappi Limited - Rudolf Thummer to join Sappi Limited board Sappi Limited Incorporated in the Republic of South Africa Registration Number: 1936/008963/06 ISIN Number: ZAE000006284 JSE Share Code: SAP ("Sappi" or "the Company") Announcement 23 November 2009 Rudolf Thummer to join Sappi Limited board Sappi Limited, the global pulp and paper group, today announced that Dr Rudolf Thummer will join the Sappi Limited board with effect from 01 February 2010 as a non-executive director, following the retirements of Mr David Brink and Dr Franklin Sonn from the Sappi Limited board on 31 December 2009. Dr Thummer (61) joins the Sappi board after having held senior executive positions in Sappi Limited, Sappi Fine Paper Europe and the Hannover Papier Group. He is a former group head technology and member of the executive committee of Sappi Limited and member of the executive board and technical director for Sappi Fine Paper Europe. He retired from Sappi at the end of December 2007. Dr Thummer holds a Doctorate in Technical Sciences, and a qualified engineer`s degree, from the Graz Technical University in Austria. He is an Austrian citizen.
