APPOINTMENT OF A NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR AND APPOINTMENT TO THE RISK COMMITTEE

In terms of paragraphs 3.59 and 6.39 of the Listings Requirements and the Debt
Listings Requirements of the JSE Limited, respectively, shareholders and
noteholders are herewith advised that Mr. Makhenkodwa Mlondolozi (‘Lotz’)
Mahlangeni has been appointed as a non-executive director of the Company with
effect from 12 December 2022 to enhance the overall skill set of the board.
Mr. Mahlangeni will be appointed to the Risk Committee with effect from
01 January 2023.

Mr. Mahlangeni is a qualified Actuary with extensive experience across various
sectors in the financial services industry including insurance, reinsurance and
banking and has held several senior leadership roles. He is currently the Group
Chief Risk Officer and Chief Actuary of Sanlam Limited and previously served as
the Bank Treasurer at FirstRand Bank Limited.

He holds a Bachelor of Business Science (Honors) in Actuarial Science from the
University of Cape Town. He is furthermore a Fellow of the Actuarial Society of
South Africa and a Certified GARP FRM.

The board welcomes the Mr. Mahlangeni as a new director to Santam and looks
forward to his contribution towards assisting the Company in achieving its
objectives. The abovementioned appointment was made in accordance with Santam’s
policy for the selection and appointment of directors to the Board.
