RESULTS OF THE GENERAL MEETING OF MVELA GROUP SHAREHOLDERS                      
At the meeting of Mvela Group shareholders held at 10:00 on Wednesday, 30       
November 2005, the resolutions tabled at the meeting to approve the acquisition 
("the acquisition") by Mvela Group of a further 24,7% effective interest in     
Batho Bonke Capital (Proprietary) Limited, equivalent to a further 2,47%        
effective interest in Absa Group Limited, were passed by a majority of more than
99.99% of the votes cast at the meeting.                                        
The acquisition remains subject to the fulfilment of certain conditions         
precedent. A further announcement will be made once the remaining conditions    
precedent have been fulfilled.
