Responsibilities

Pursuant to DTR 3.1.4 R, Lonmin Plc (the "Company") confirms that on 18 December 2012 Dr Len
Konar, a non-executive director, purchased 10,000 ordinary shares of $1 each in the capital of the
Company on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange at a price of R40.5700 per share.

Following this transaction, Dr Konar has a holding of 14,200 ordinary shares of $1 each in the
capital of the Company.
