TRADING STATEMENT                                                               
In terms of the JSE Securities Exchange South Africa Listings Requirements,     
companies are required to publish a trading statement as soon as they are       
reasonably certain that the financial results for the current reporting period  
will be more than 20% different than that of the prior comparative period       
In light of the above, Italtile expects to announce net profit and headline     
earnings for the six months ended 31 December 2004 that will be 25% to 30%      
higher than that of the prior comparative period. This robust performance is a  
reflection of favourable conditions experienced in the retail environment, the  
strength of the group"s CTM and Italtile brands and leverage afforded as a      
leading purchaser of tiles globally.                                            
Shareholders are advised that the above information has not been reviewed or    
reported on by the company"s auditors and the company"s results for the six     
months ended 31 December 2004 are expected to be published on 10th February     
2005.
